Wiki Week 8
This week we have our Duathlon on Wednesday at Centennial Park. In pairs we complete 3-4 times around a circuit with both team members having a turn at running and biking - so it involves skill, speed, agility and of course strategy deciding when and how many times to swap over.
We have been making scooter, bike and helmet safety video clips demonstrating our knowledge from our science inquiry and bike/scooter lessons.
In Maths we have been focusing on place value - with some groups working with decimals and others in whole numbers.

We are looking forward to the Bike/Run Duathlon next Wednesday.
Wiki Week 6 by Mrs Brown
On Sunday it was Hadlow to Harbour fun run/walk. I ran the short course with my dog Ollie and loved seeing many students from our class completing this as well . Dakota deserves special mention for completing the 10km.
This week we had more testing and 3-way interviews (parents/caregivers / students and teachers) which provides another opportunity for us to work together to benefit our students.
This week our new Kiwi Can King and Queen are Vili and Taylah- well done. Our Piwakawaka, Kakapo, Takahe and Mohua teams played off against each other in a game of Giants vs Wizards vs Goblins and Dwarfs. Great to see the team work improving and that you gained 36 points to move further north on your hikoi through Aotearoa visiting different marae.

Wiki - Week 1 Term 1
We started off the school year with a week of extreme weather - from hot and dry to cold and wet. It was great to see the class show resilience in dealing with this for example drinking lots of water, keeping in the shade and willingly join in calming Mindfulness sessions (e.g. focused breathing).
Our Year 7's came back very excited and enthusiatic after their first weekly Technology session at T.Tech. We started our spelling, Maths, Reading programmes.
Our class Waka is beginning to take shape and will be completed in Week 2 showing all of us 'paddling' together to reach our goals.
